at what point in history do you think americans stopped having british accents

image

Actually, Americans still have the original British accent. We kept it over time and Britain didn’t. What we currently coin as a British accent developed in England during the 19th century among the upper class as a symbol of status. Historians often claim that Shakespeare sounds better in an American accent.

whAT THE FUCK

I’m too tired for this

Always add in the video that according to linguists, Native southern drawl is a slowed down British.

T’ be or not t’be, y’all.

Fun fact: Same thing happened with the French accent. French Canadians still have the original French accent from the 15th century.

Êt’e ou n’pô zêt’e, vous z’auts.

I’ve been trying to find this post for months. I’m freakishly obsessed with this and want the truth of what early colonists sounded like.

I was onto [the idea of a sequel] all through my 20s, way through my 30s when everyone wanted to work with me, when not a lot of people wanted to work with me. I’m 42 now, and Veronica is one of my favorite characters I’ve ever played. I never, ever felt finished with her. – Winona Ryder

be serious for a second, Rihanna and her foundation is trying to better children’s education through out the world. There has never been a celebrity/star this involved in charity of this scale. Not only does she lent her influence to the work or donate money to the foundation, she is actively making deals, changing policies with like countries and regions. She is actually way presidential than the current president, because she actually understand diplomacy and political currency. Her achievements are not about like building a new school building or buying school supplies. Her active involvement actually is about changing education systems and public welfare policies. And she is succeeding. She is in a league or her own. Everybody is like Oprah for president I’m here be like RiRi 2020.

Thank you Rhi for being one great ass example for black girls
